For domestic calls:
LOS allows you to call communities within the parish, or within 40 miles of the telephone office serving you, at reduced rates. LOS calls within 22 miles are capped at $15 per line. Calls made to areas between 22 and 40 miles are not included in the cap, but are billed at reduced rates.
If you are a Ascension or Livingstion parish EATEL customer, you can refer to our LOS Usage Chart for a list of cities you can call at the LOS rate if you order a service plan with LOS. Be sure to refer to the appropriate city (or wire center) from which you are calling.
If you are an EATEL Long Distance customer residing outside of Ascension or Livingston parish, please refer to your local telephone directory for the cities that you can call as part of your LOS rate plan.

Interrupt / Verification Charge
A charge applies each time the operator verifies a called line and hears voice communication.
A charge applies each time the operator interrupts a conversation that is in progress on the called line. The charge is for the interruption service and does not depend on whether the called party agrees to release the line and accept the call. If an operator both verifies the condition of the line and interrupts conversation on the same request, the interrupt charge only applies.The charges for Verification / Interruption service are in addition to any applicable message rates.
