GONZALES, LA – October 18, 2018- EATEL, Gonzales-based local communications provider, awarded ten Ascension Parish teachers Thursday evening at their annual “Reach a Kid, Teach a Kid”, grant ceremony. Each educator was presented with $500.00 to help with the expenses of the projects submitted, totaling $5000.00 in awards. Applicants were judged on their unique ideas, being encouraged to create innovative methods of teaching that are designed to engage their students.

For over 20 years, the EATEL, Reach a Kid Teach a Kid program has helped fund a variety of projects in the local school system. Funding over $100,000.00 to date and reaching all grade levels, K-12, this grant opens the doors to creative thinking for students and teachers.

“EATEL will continue to fund educational projects and stay involved in the community. We take pride in our education system and it’s my pleasure to be able to hand out this award to the best of the best,” said presenter Arthur Scanlan III, of EATEL.

Ascension Parish, Assistant Superintendent, Denise Graves credited the teachers for their outstanding performance and thanked EATEL for their “tremendous community support.”
