School Tools
REV and Volunteer Ascension help provide Ascension Parish schools with much-needed “School Tools” for the upcoming academic year.

With ever-increasing school supply costs, it is difficult for many parents and teachers to provide all the necessary supplies needed in the classroom on a daily basis. Help Ascension Parish Schools get the tools they need to succeed!

Adopted School
Since 2000, REV has been the school adopter of Gonzales Primary School, donating nearly $15,000 for school initiatives. REV employees volunteer at school events and are able to assist the faculty with school programs and fundraisers.

Ascension Fund
Established in 1991, the Ascension Fund was started to promote teaching excellence and fund creative and innovative classroom activities in Ascension Parish schools. REV donated $50,000 to begin the fund and, after 15 years, it has generated over $950,000 in funding dollars. The resources make a difference in the classroom by enhancing the learning experience and making the curriculum more fun and interesting. Applications for the Ascension Fund are submitted each January and evaluated by teams of readers representing the community, local businesses and educators.

Digital Media Curriculum
REV donated over $20,000 to help create a digital media curriculum in local high schools. The program initially launched at Dutchtown and East Ascension high schools and later expanded to St. Amant. The curriculum digital photography and digital video components, with a focus not only on building these technical skills, but also on helping students cultivate critical thinking abilities.

River Parish Community College Foundation, Inc. Golf Scramble
For more than nine years, the River Parishes Community College Foundation, Inc. Golf Scramble has been raising funds to support higher education in our community. Each year the Foundation awards $14,000 in merit-based scholarships to eligible RPCC students.
